International engagement is at the heart of JCI, offering you excellent opportunities to build global networks and learn to work in international communities.
JCI chambers are part of the global Junior Chamber International (JCI) network, which provides countless opportunities to internationalize and gain unique experiences. There are JCI chambers in over 100 countries worldwide.
The best way to take advantage of the international network is by participating in international events. At these events, you can attend unique training sessions, enjoy fantastic celebrations, and, of course, network with new people. At its peak, the JCI World Congress may have over 10,000 participants.
In addition to official meetings, there are dozens of other international JCI events in Europe alone. JCI Oulu is known for its active participation in international events, with our members attending meetings all over the world. If building international networks and training are what you want to experience and learn from in JCI, JCI Oulu is undoubtedly the right home chamber for you.
JCI Oulu actively maintains connections with two foreign chambers, which are our twinning partners. One is JCI Glasgow in Scotland, and the other is JCI Higashi-Osaka in Japan. We organize visits to our twinning chambers and invite them to our own events. Additionally, we arrange meetings during international conferences.

JCI Oulu is an active international participant with three twinning chambers.
Twinning, or friendship chamber activity, is a form of cooperation between Junior Chambers. Many Finnish chambers have a twinning chamber in another country, and this is also the case for JCI Oulu. A twinning chamber can also be from another region within Finland.
The goal of twinning is to get acquainted with the activities and culture of another country’s chamber and to gain new ideas for your own activities. At its best, twinning can lead to new business partnerships, collaborative projects, and lifelong friendships.
JCI Oulu has three twinning chambers: JCI Glasgow in Scotland, JCI Higashi-Osaka in Japan, and most recently, JCI Skellefteå in Sweden. The collaboration has been active over the years. Both the Scots and the Japanese have visited Oulu, and JCI Oulu members have had the opportunity to visit our twinning chambers many times. The twinning agreement with JCI Skellefteå was signed in 2023 at the JCI World Congress in Zurich. Getting to know the activities and culture of another country’s chamber has provided our members with unique opportunities to network in an international environment. In addition to company visits and new ideas for chamber activities, many of our members have gained lifelong friends around the world thanks to twinning activities.
